Weekend Events: April 28th Edition
Happy Thursday, Eastie! What a rainy end to April we’ve had. You know what they say, though. April showers bring May flowers! Check out what’s going on this weekend.
Tonight from 5:30-7pm at the Salesians there will be guest speakers talking to teens about substance abuse and domestic violence. This is an important topic and open to all teens in the community.
At 6pm author Steven Kassels, M.D, will be at the library discussing his new book, "Addiction on Trial, Tragedy in Downeast Maine.”
At 6:30pm, join Friends of the East Boston Greenway with the East Boston Greenway Council as they meet for their monthly meeting.
From 7-8pm there is a community meeting to discuss 9 Chelsea St at the EBNHC Training Institute.
Starting at 6pm tomorrow, April 28th, is the annual Chinese Auction Fundraiser at the Salesians. Tickets are $20 and come with all you can eat Chinese food!
From 6:30-10pm, Linnea Star will be at Suffolk Downs conversing with the spirit world. Tickets for her show are $40.
The Love Your Block event will be running throughout all of Eastie on BOTH Friday (28th) and Saturday (29th). This is a city-wide event to clean up our neighborhoods! Many of our businesses and schools are participating so feel free to make the rounds and help out anyway you can!
From 10am-2pm on Saturday, April 29th, there is a dog licensing and low-cost rabies clinic being offered at the Marty Pino Gym.
The YMCA is hosting Healthy Kids Day 2017 from 10am-12pm. Snacks, raffles, activities, and more!
ZUMIX’s Walk for Music 2017 is Sunday, April 30th, from 12:30-4pm. This is a 2-mile walk right here in Eastie that supports our award-winning music and youth empowerment programs.
Looking ahead, the next Free Marine Educator Training Session is Saturday, May 6th.
Also, Harbor City School’s Annual Scholarship “Fun'Raiser” is Friday, May 12th. This is a great opportunity to support a local preschool!
