Weekend Events: October 13th Edition


Happy Friday the 13th, Eastie (eeeeek)! It is definitely now feeling fall-ish here in our lovely city and we have some super fun fall events happening over the next few weeks. In the meantime, take a look at what we have going on this weekend.

Today at 3pm is the next multicultural Friday film at the library.  Showing will be PG + PG-13 movies that celebrate immigrants and countries around the world.. And popcorn will be served!


From 7-11pm is the East Boston Social Center’s 70s disco fundraiser.  Although this event is taking place at the Beachmont VFW in Revere, the event is to support the East Boston center so I wanted to include it here.  Looks so fun!


Tomorrow, October 14th, from 10am-4pm is the grand opening of Boston City Councilor Stephen Passacantilli’s campaign office.


From 12-1pm is the next $5 community yoga class at The Point EB.  Proceeds from this class will go towards the East Boston Pop Warner.


Family day on Chelsea Creek will be from 12-2pm. Family kayaking, games, food, music, etc! This may be one of our last days to enjoy the water before it gets too cold out!


All Meridian House alumni and their families are welcome to attend the alumni bbq from 1-5 at Meridian House.


Come prep for the Dia De los Muertos and attend the Catrina costume making workshop at VRCC at 2pm.


The opening reception of the new art exhibit at Atlantic Works Gallery will be from 6-9pm.


The East Boston Community Soup Kitchen fundraiser will be from 6-10pm at the EBNHC.  This is a great opportunity to help raise money for the kitchen!


On Monday, October 16th, the Fresh Truck Mobile Food Market will be down Maverick Square from 4-7pm.


The first (of four) learn to knit classes at the library will be from 6-7:30pm.


On Tuesday, October 17th, Mayor Walsh and Massport CEO Thomas Glynn will be gathering at Piers Park to discuss Massport's recent commitments to the community.


EBNHC’s monthly baby shower will be on Wednesday, October 18th, from 12-1pm.


JPNA’s monthly meeting will be at 7pm at the Jeffries Point Yacht Club.


The City Hall To-Go Cart will be down Maverick Square on Thursday, October 19th, from 3:30-6:30pm.


The next yoga and running series will be from 6:45-8:45pm at The Point EB.


Don’t forget, Sam Adams Elementary is hosting a hoodie drive for children affected by the hurricane in Texas.  Please help and drop off hoodies through the month of October!
