Weekend Events: October 20th Edition
Happy Friday, Eastie! We have some super fun and festive fall events happening this weekend AND tons of stuff going on during the week. Check them out below!
Today starting at 2:30pm is the $2 fresh fruit and vegetable bags at the EBNHC. This is a first come, first serve CASH ONLY event.
The next multicultural Friday film at the library is at 3pm. Showing will be PG + PG-13 movies that celebrate immigrants and countries around the world.. And popcorn will be served!
From 7-8:30pm is Yoga Nidra at The Point EB.
From 12-1pm tomorrow, October 21st, is the next $5 community yoga class at The Point EB. Proceeds from this class will go towards the East Boston Pop Warner.
The VRCC is hosting an open house at the BCYF Paris St. Community Center from 12-1:30pm to discuss their new programs partnership with the center.
Come prep for the Dia de los Muertos and attend the Altars workshop at VRCC at 2pm.
The 3rd Annual Community Dinner at Sacred Heart Parish is from 4:45-8pm.
Starting at 9am on Sunday, October 22nd, is the 4th Annual East BOOston 5K. This runs along our beautiful Greenway and waterfront. Families are welcome to participate!
Following the 5k, is the 1st Annual Bremen Street Fall Festival at Bremen Park! The family-friendly games, activities, and entertainment will run from 10am-2pm.
On Monday, October 23rd, the Fresh Truck Mobile Food Market will be down Maverick Square from 4-7pm.
There will be a reception for Lydia Edwards at Angela's Cafe Orient Heights from 5:30-7pm.
The next learn to knit classes at the library will be from 6-7:30pm.
On Tuesday, October 24th, there will be a bike share workshop at the EBSC from 6:30-8:30pm. This meeting will be to discuss the expansion of the bike share stations.
Yoga bowling is back on Wednesday, October 25th! From 6:30-9pm at Central Park Lanes you can do a mix of yoga and bowling.
Starting on Thursday, October 26th, and running for 7 weeks is the Small Business Center at the library. This is a high-impact training, coaching and networking opportunity for entrepreneurs. The series will be form 4-7:30pm each week.
The next yoga and running series will be from 6:45-8:45pm at The Point EB.
The fall reception in honor of State Rep. Adrian Madaro will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn from 6-8pm.
The Friends of the East Boston Greenway’s monthly meeting is at 6:30pm.
There is free homework help for all BPS students at the library on Monday-Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30pm. This will run all school year (minus holidays and vacations) until May 24, 2018.
Every Tuesday through November is the basic computer course in Spanish. This is an hour long class from 10:30-11:30am.
The Sam Adams Elementary is hosting a hoodie drive for children affected by the hurricane in Texas. Please help and drop off hoodies through the month of October!
