Weekend Events: September 22nd Edition
Happy Thursday, Eastie! Tomorrow is the first day of fall (which I’m super excited about)! Take a look at the events we have going on this weekend. We especially have a few awesome family-friendly events taking place on Saturday.
Tonight at 6pm is the next Walk for Peace.
From 6-9pm artists Perla Castaneda and Kristen Freitas will be at Atlantic Works Gallery talking about the current work they have on display.
From 6:15-7:15pm there will be a donation-based yoga class at Piers Park. A great way to unwind, relax and take in the last day of summer!
Starting tomorrow, September 22nd, at 3pm and running through November is the multicultural Friday films at the library. Showing will be PG + PG-13 movies that celebrate immigrants and countries around the world.. And popcorn will be served!
The third Classes for a Cause donation-based yoga class is from 12-1pm at the Point EB on Saturday, September 23rd. The proceeds benefit the East Boston Soup Kitchen.
From 11am-2pm is the Welcome Week Celebration at the East Boston YMCA. This is a FREE event that will feature information tables, bouncy house, snacks and more!
The Ward 1 Democratic Committee is hosting their 2nd Annual BBQ from 2-5pm.
ZUMIX’s block party will be from 2-6pm right outside ZUMIX. This is also a FREE event filled with music, art, face painting, raffles, beer garden, etc (food and drink for purchase).
On Tuesday, September 26th, the next basic computer course in Spanish will be held at the library. This is an hour long class from 10:30-11:30am.
The next Learn to Dance Salsa class will be on Wednesday, September 27th, from 7-8pm at ZUMIX.
Eagle Hill Civic Association’s monthly meeting will be from 7-9pm at the high school.
I also wanted to mention that the first Eastie Serves Volunteer Fair will be next Thursday, September 28th, from 5-7:30pm at Maverick Landing. This is open to all of our community and tables from several Eastie-based organizations will be there providing information about how you can give back to our city.
