Weekend Events: September 8th Edition

Helloooo, Eastie!  Happy Friday AND happy back to school!  Now that summer is ending (boo), we are back in action here with our weekly articles.  Back to reality, as I’ve been saying!  Take a look below and see what’s going on this weekend.

Tomorrow, September 9th, there will be a meet and greet in Jeffries Point with Lydia Edwards, Boston City Council candidate, from 11am-2pm.

The Cuneo Park grand re-opening will start at 11:30am.  There will be refreshments and facepainting for the kids.

Starting tomorrow at 12pm and running for the next four Saturdays is the Classes for a Cause - an hour long donation-based vinyasa flow class where the proceeds will go to the East Boston Soup Kitchen.  A perfect time to get your flow on AND help out the community!

Maverick Square Acupuncture and Didi's Spa are celebrating their 4th Anniversary at 154 Maverick Marketplace from 1-4pm.  Join for massages, mini sessions, goody bags, refreshments, and more.

Tomorrow night from 6-9pm is the opening reception of the new artwork at Atlantic Works Gallery.

On Sunday, September 10th, the EBOM will be up and running from 11am-4pm.  Shop local!

There will be a September 11th Memorial Service at Piers Park at 2pm.

From 5-8pm is the Piers Park Sailing Center’s Sail Away Soirée.  This harbor cruise will include food, drink, music, dancing, and celebration.

On Monday, September 11th, the East Boston Playhouse is hosting auditions from 6:30-8:30pm for their Fall 2017 production, Almost, Maine.  Auditions will be held at the East Boston Social Centers.

On Tuesday, September 12th, the official ribbon cutting ceremony of the renovated Central Square will be held at 11am with Mayor Walsh.  I know MANY of us are excited that the construction and chaos has finally come to an end!

Downeast Cider House is hosting the Boston Area Beer Enthusiasts Society (BABES) for a private tour and tasting from 6:30-9pm.  You must have pre purchased tickets in order to attend.

On Wednesday, September 13th, the second Learn to Dance Salsa class will be held at ZUMIX.  This class is running every Wednesday this month.

On Thursday, September 14th, the EVFA is hosting a new moms breakfast at 10am (email info@eastieVFA.org for the location).  This is a great way to meet other new moms and get some grown-up conversation!
